More than 30 employees and their families from our Victoria site put the finishing touches on a Global Crescent Habitat for Humanity home as part of their Global Care project. Created 15 years ago, Global Care Day is designed to leave a long, sustainable impact on the communities where LyondellBasell operates.
Crews wasted no time getting to work. Volunteers painted the interior and exterior of the home. Trees were planted, sod installed and a retaining wall was constructed.
“We are incredibly grateful for the time and effort put in by companies like LyondellBasell,” says Golden Crescent Outlying Counties Resource Coordinator Rebekah Logan, “ Without these types of partnerships, Habitat would not function. It is a local day of care and with LyondellBasell taking the time across the world to partner with different organizations, it truly is a Global Care Day.”
Volunteers also painted picnic tables which will be put up for auction as a fundraiser. The house will soon be ready for a new family to call it home.
“Participating in Global Care Day allows us all to make a much larger impact in our community in a single day than would ever be possible on our own.” Says LyondellBasell Engineer Jessica Ditch, “We are deeply rooted in our community here and are grateful for the opportunity to provide a home for the recipient family that they can enjoy for years to come.”
This is the 82nd home in Victoria built by Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity.
