LyondellBasell’s Victoria Plant Receives Top Safety Award

VICTORIA, TEXAS – May 29, 2018 – The Victoria Plant of LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies, received the 2017 Elite Silver Safety Award from the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) for outstanding safety performance. The Elite Silver Safety Award represents the top five percent of industry safety performers and is presented to petrochemical plants that have exhibited excellent safety performance and program innovation. AFPM awarded the plant during its National Safety Conference in San Antonio.
“This award reflects our employees’ hard work and commitment to consistently improving safety performance through training, effective communications and heightened awareness,” said Greg Cannon, site manager of LyondellBasell’s Victoria Plant. “Our keen focus on working safely demonstrates our belief that there is nothing more important than the safety and well-being of our most valuable asset – our employees.”
The AFPM Safety Awards Program is part of a comprehensive safety program developed by AFPM’s Safety and Health Committee to promote accident prevention in the petroleum refining and petrochemical manufacturing industries.
