The LyondellBasell Victoria Plant produces High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). HDPE is used to create a variety of products which includes food packaging, wire and cable coatings, cases and crates, pails, healthcare items, lawn and garden tools, and personal care products.
The Victoria Plant is an integral part of the Victoria economy. The plant provides good paying and stable jobs in which workers live and shop in the local area for goods and services. Property taxes paid by LyondellBasell help support the local schools and government services. The Victoria Plant supports the community through donations to organizations such as Bloomington Volunteer Fire Department, Meals on Wheels South Texas, Keep Victoria Beautiful, and Food Bank of the Golden Crescent.
The Plant has an advanced capability to transition from one product to another every month, sometimes as many as 44 times. Transitioning products can be accomplished in about 20 minutes, from the start of a new product in reaction until the product is cut into pellets.
The safety of the community, operations and our employees is a primary focus. The Victoria Plant aims for zero injuries, zero process safety incidents, zero product safety incidents, zero environmental incidents and zero plastic pellet loss to the environment. The LyondellBasell GoalZERO standards apply to all employees, contractors and suppliers performing work at the sites.
