Other Safety Awards
The Tuscola plant also received the CSX Transportation’s Chemical Excellence Safety Award for chemical transportation safety because of safe loading techniques, secured shipments and zero non-accident releases during 2009. LyondellBasell uses CSX rail lines to transport industrial alcohol between its manufacturing facilities located in Tuscola, Illinois and Newark, New Jersey, as well to customers in the northeastern region.
The company was recognized for superior safety performance for transporting more than 2,400 shipments of products classified as hazardous without incident. Although the company has received numerous safety awards from its other rail vendors, this is the first time it received the Chemical Excellence Safety award from CSX.
