Tarragona Site

Our Tarragona facilities are located in the municipalities of Tarragona, Reus and Vila-seca, in the autonomous region of Catalonia, Spain, and are part of a major European petrochemical complex located on the Mediterranean coast southwest of the City of Tarragona.

The facilities are divided into two sites: Tarragona Site East and Tarragona Site West. The Tarragona Site East covers about 3.8 hectares and is located within a complex owned by BASF. The Tarragona Site West covers about 8.9 hectares and is part of a site shared with Celanese. Furthermore, we operate a cogeneration unit (HISANE) located in Tarragona Site West.

We produce polypropylene resins and advanced polyolefin products. The polypropylene resins are used by our customers to manufacture many of the conveniences of modern life, including housewares, building materials and packaging materials. Our advanced polyolefin products are used for automotive parts, electrical appliances, and pipe and sheet applications.

Providing Economical Value

Around 277 employees work in our Tarragona facilities and the approximate annual value of site purchases, excluding primary feedstock, rises to €44 million.
