Jackson Plant Recognized with Quality Management Certification

JACKSON, TN.- March 19, 2018 – Workers at the LyondellBasell plant in Jackson, TN understand the concept of superior quality. After all, the resin they produce is eventually turned into automotive components like car bumpers, which are fully assessed, thoroughly inspected and rigorously put to the test to ensure both quality and safety for the end consumer.
LyondellBasell’s Jackson Plant was recently certified to the most recent version of the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) 16949 quality management standard, one of the automotive industry’s most widely used international standards for quality management.
“Meeting the requirements of this newest version of the standard is a challenging task, and takes the efforts of everyone at the facility,” said Scott Jones, site Quality Coordinator. More than 100 men and women work at the plant.
Bringing together standards from across Europe and the United States, the IATF certification recognizes LyondellBasell’s Jackson Plant as a world-class automotive supplier, and outlines best practices when designing, developing, manufacturing, installing or servicing automotive products.
“We are proud of this certification and the diligence our workers place on producing the highest grade of product,” said Rebecca White, site manager of LyondellBasell’s Jackson Plant. “This ensures the automotive industry suppliers know when purchasing our materials, they can have confidence we have the systems and processes necessary to ensure the quality of our products.”
