Ferrara: The Production Site and Research Center

LyondellBasell's Ferrara Site and Technical Center is part of a multi-company complex located in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy near the Po River. This site has a long and illustrious history in the polyolefins industry and continues to focus on this tradition of innovation. Approximately 800 employees work at the site which comprises three components: the Giulio Natta Research Center, with pilot plant and laboratories; catalyst production facilities; and polymer manufacturing operations.

Our Ferrara site is now the world's largest site for Ziegler-Natta catalyst development and production and is fully integrated with basic research, process and product development. The polymer manufacturing units produce polypropylene and advanced polyolefin resins that are used in a wide variety of applications including food packaging, medical products, automotive components, and much more.
