LyondellBasell continues its commitment to education with a $10,000 donation to the Clear Creek Education Foundation (CCEF). The money will be used for numerous teacher grants in the school district.
“Education is a top priority for us,” said LyondellBasell Bayport Complex Site Manager Walter Pinto. “We need to make sure our teachers have all the resources available to engage and encourage as many students as possible.”
The check was presented by Pinto at the monthly school board meeting. A prize patrol delivers the grants to teachers in May.
“Funding from the CCEF is made possible thanks to the many friends of the foundation, like LyondellBasell who have partnered together to support educational excellence in CCISD,“ said CCEF Executive Director Kaci Hanson. “The support helps fund the following programs: Teacher Innovative Grants, Clear Horizons Early College High School, Technology Education Labs and National Board Teacher Certification. CCEF is truly grateful to our partners who value education and see the lasting impact in our community.”
The programs allow instructors to go above and beyond the classroom.
“CCEF programs, such as the Clear Horizons Early College High School, enhance learning and provide opportunities that students would not normally have in the classroom and beyond, by allowing them to achieve their associate degree along with their high school diploma,“ stated CCISD Deputy Superintendent Dr. Steve Ebell.
“The Education Foundation helps so many teachers on so many different levels,” said Pinto. “We know they have a tremendous impact on a child and we appreciate all their efforts.”
