The LyondellBasell Bayport Choate Site produces Propylene Oxide, Propylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol Ether, Tertiary Butyl Alcohol, High Purity Isobutylene, Tertiary Butyl Hydroperoxide and Ethyl Tertiary-Butyl Ether that our customers use to create a variety of products. Products include paint and coatings, home furnishings, auto parts, gasoline components, personal care products and antifreeze. This site is the largest POTBA site in the world based on production.
The Bayport Choate Site serves as a significant economic engine for Pasadena. For over 50 years, LyondellBasell Bayport has offered a variety of technical, professional, and craftsman level careers that support the lifestyles of our workers and their families. Many of our workers live and shop in the area, which means they purchase millions of dollars in local goods and services. The property taxes paid by LyondellBasell help support the local schools and government services. In addition, the facility supports the community through volunteering or donations to organizations such as La Porte ISD Education Foundation, Assistance League of the Bay Area, Armand Bayou Nature Center, Houston Food Bank, and Shoreacres Police Dept.
