America’s Change Makers, a campaign launched by the American Chemistry Council (ACC), seeks to inspire and engage the public, policymakers, customers and stakeholders in supporting the industry’s efforts toward a more sustainable future. As part of the America’s Change Makers video series, the campaign highlights inspiring stories of scientists, engineers, and innovators who drive sustainable change within the plastics industry.
In this edition, Armando Lara, Site Manager of the Lake Charles joint venture (LKO), shares how he makes a positive impact on both his job and the local community. Lara is passionate that sustainability lies at the core of his work.
“Sustainability is a core part of what we do,” Lara said. “We, number one, intend to be an integral part of the strength of our communities, therefore sustaining the culture and the communities around our facilities. Number two, we’re actively doing things that protect our environment, so that in the future, we’re able to help guarantee a healthy world for our future generations.”
