More than 60 LyondellBasell employees, contractors and family members assisted with registration and collected trash and recyclable materials around Armand Bayou.
They recently participated in the 22nd Annual River, Lakes, Bays ‘N Bayous Trash Bash, the largest single day waterway cleanup in the state of Texas.
They also served as the volunteer cook team preparing food for more than 800 volunteers. Trash Bash volunteers collected 4,700 pounds of trash, 300 pounds of recyclable materials and 53 tires at Armand Bayou.
Trash Bash started in 1993 with seven sites and 3,000 volunteers, and since, has grown to 17 sites across the Galveston Bay Watershed with more than 5,000 volunteers annually. Sponsored by the Texas Conservation Fund, the Trash Bash’s mission is to promote environmental stewardship through hands-on educational activities and partnerships with public and private organizations. The Texas Conservation Fund has led land conservation efforts for nearly 30 years to educate the public to help reduce litter for the long-term.
